ABOUT THE EVENT
Healing Through Yoga
Introductory training & mini-retreat exploring the foundations of trauma-informed care and somatic healing.
Remember and reconnect with the inherent wisdom of the body through somatic (body-based) practices.
Learn how ancient healing wisdom is now understood through the modern language of science.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday Nov. 15 @ 10 - 4
Sunday Nov. 16 @ 11 - 3
Yoga is a system of practices and principles that offer a pathway for healing the body, mind, and soul. Healing is not about fixing what is broken, but a journey of meeting our wounds with care and compassion, and finding our way home to our deepest sense of Self. It is a process of remembering, integration, and empowerment. Through movement, breath, and mindful awareness, the ancient wisdom of yoga naturally involves the body in the healing journey. Modern neuroscience and Polyvagal Theory help us understand how chronic stress and trauma affect the nervous system, not just through our individual experiences but collectively through family generations and cultural conditioning. By integrating these insights, we can cultivate greater awareness and healing on both the personal and collective level.
